Refuge Fitness Challenge—Tournament Details Posted

Love the strategic weigh in options! I’m already looking forward to being 10 lbs behind because my love of the holidays overrides my “in the moment” optimism on 12/1.

Who here is sandbagging, shout out thanksgiving, in preparation for a Dec 1st weigh in?

I may or may not already have ordered a massive turkey and a smattering of bourbon for next week.

I refuse to work out until Dec. 2nd.

My girlfriend asked me to go for a run on Sunday and I said no out of respect for the game.

I’m in. Need some structure and motivation.

Perhaps another challenge is doing something like a full Whole30.

It’s a fun challenge. I’ve done it 3 times in the last couple years.

If it’s something you have to keep doing does it actually work? Seems unsustainable

I’m actually really looking forward to it. I’ve never done it but I’m hopeful it serves more as a learning tool than just a quick weight loss tool. i.e. dairy or sugar or whatever makes me feel X.

This makes more sense to me

It’s classified as a “reset” so more something that you do to get your body back to neutral. So I think doing it multiple times is relatively normal. I know a lot of people I’ve read said they do it once a year.

Wouldn’t say I have to keep doing it. I choose to do it on a more stringent basis, following all of the rules/guidelines, generally once a year.

I would say I’ve largely incorporated most of its tenets into my home cooking / eating. I rarely cook for myself things including dairy, gluten, processed sugars. I read labels on things I’m buying more and don’t buy things that have sugar added to them unecessarily, contain preservatives, etc…

Eating out is an entirely different beast and I just do what I want there.

In normal times I travel a lot for work and this is always the struggle. You need to adjust from a normal going out to dinner attitude of “I’m going to order what looks delicious as a treat” to a “this is how I’m eating for the week” mindset.

But I get what you’re saying now and after looking it up quickly. It’s a stringent ruleset that hopefully teaches you how to make a more sustainable routine.

Perhaps a sit and reach for those of us who need/want to work on flexibility.

When will there be a google doc to sign up?

Those of us with long legs do not appreciate the sit and reach boxes from school

Those boxes made me think I was flexible until I realized I’m 6 feet tall with a 30 inch inseam

One of my best friends is right there with you. I on the other hand am the same height as you with a 34 inch inseam…

Nice Job running a 5:15 mile Chico. Unfortunately you have failed the 6th Grade President’s Fitness Council because you’re 6 feet tall in 6th grade and can’t do a sit and reach to save your life.
