Probably November-December if I had to guess, looking at previous seasons where they played the Carolinas in October-November and it premiered late January. Ireland took place in the spring and wasn’t released until October 1st.
Also remember they have at least one Strapped episode already filmed and I believe a WWOG as well.
I wonder if the PP guys have any game. If they get a chance to practice much.
There was definitely some Old Mac in yesterday’s insta stories. Hoping they get into some of the templates when it’s all put together.
I could be totally off because I’ve never been to either location and I’m good to be corrected by someone
But Bandon feels like the type of place where you play all the courses and Pinehurst isn’t
That’s a fair take that I agree with. But Pinehurst (the town) also allows you to explore the whole area, where at Bandon you never leave the resort.
I’ve never been to Bandon, but I’ve heard when you go, you have the golf courses and that’s it. So if you have an early round, there isn’t much to do the rest of the day. At Pinehurst you can easily find things to do in the afternoons if you play in the morning. (obviously that can be different for different people. Pinehurst isn’t Myrtle Beach or Vegas)
Sorry if this has been answered before, but to those that have been to Bandon, how much does a trip cost on average? I know it depends on time of year but hoping to plan a trip with my dad and I in the next couple of years. Would likely be in the fall.
It’s going to be largely dependent on what you want. How many rounds, style of lodging, yes/no caddies and the cost of travel from wherever you live. The pricing at the resort is very transparent on their website, figuring out cost at the resort is easy to do for a ballpark and then see what flights / rental car, etc are going for. You’ll get much closer to a true reflection of your cost then sourcing from everyone else’s trips. I always like to add in a couple hundred in incidentals for trips like that for the extra beers, etc.
Just for reference. The trip I took with my 2 of my buddies this past spring ran about 750 per person. That was for 4 rounds of golf and 3 nights stay at the resort.
If you’re looking to save a few bucks and stay off property there is a pretty nice Casino in Coos Bay that will drastically reduce the amount spent on hotel costs. It’s about 25-30 minutes from the resort.
Also I should mention I am an Oregon Resident and thus receive lower rates.
That was before they had a board president shouldering the load.
Yeah that’s the vibe I got too. I kind of mentioned that earlier that it’s easier to get off the resort at Pinehurst. Sounds like they are looking to play all or nearly all, which is awesome. Really want to see the boys take on Sheep Ranch.
Bandon Crossings is a decent comp for Southern Pines, but Mid Pines and Pine Needles are better than a number of the Pinehurst Resort options, and are only 15 minutes away. Bandon doesn’t have anything like that in the area.
This is going to be sick. I do agree it sounds like they are playing almost everything.
Gearhart is a great time. They did a Crash Course there a while back, if I remember right. Owned by the CEO Columbia Sportswear, Tim Boyle.
Down the coast are two courses I’ve played since I was a kid visiting the Oregon Coast: Seaside Golf Course in Seaside, OR and Manzanita Golf Links in Manzanita, OR.
Seaside GC has definitely seen better days, but it’s a Chandler Egan design from the early 1920s. We stay in a house 2 blocks away and I play every morning when we’re there.
Manzanita Golf Links is a super fun track down the coast and has, in my opinion, one of the best logos in golf.
They are playing Sunset Bay also
Looks like they played Sheep Ranch and Bandon Trails yesterday.
Where are you seeing all of this? I saw DJ Pie post a picture from Sheep on his Instagram but the rest of the crew, from what I’ve seen, is radio silent. Must have missed something.
According to their Twitter, something big happened yesterday on the Preserve. I’m assuming HIO, but unless someone gives us a spoiler, I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
Was it from the Preserve, because they had this from Sheep Ranch https://twitter.com/Todleonardsd/status/1294767941137776640
