Totally agree, but I’ve only been to Bandon. It seems like there is a much broader quality of courses at Pinehurst (i.e. some more forgettable or very similar to each other), while at Bandon they are just all so top notch and have largely different feels from one another. If you want to go to a crazy place…just think about if Bandon keeps expanding and has as many courses as Pinehurst…mind blown.gif

I don’t think Bandon itself can expand much more in terms of available land but what makes Pinehurst so great (as I know it, haven’t been there yet) is that off the Pinehurst proper resort there are so many other top courses like Mid Pines, Pine Needles and so on. Bandon Crossings is close but maybe other courses can open in the Bandon area…?

That’s maybe why it is nice to have different types of options. If you plan a sufficient trip to Bandon Dunes, go to Pinehurst instead.
I mean … do both. Bandon is amazing and I think one could argue (having not played Sheep Ranch yet but having seen it) that only Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes could feel somewhat similar. Nothing else is like Old Mac or Trails so you’re getting plenty of variety while staying on property. It’s kind of the best place in the world.

Yeah Bandon sucks, stay away. Pinehurst is way better I would 10/10 go there instead.
