My dear friends - lend me your ears. Nigh but four years ago, we were graced with one of the most electric golf-adjacent podcasts in history: the Icarito-Tommy Armour III/IV Vegas recap, which dropped the day after Christmas 2016. If you haven’t yet listened, I cannot implore you strongly enough to give Episode 5 of the Trap Draw a listen. Fueled by “holiday cheer”, Young Neil spins a yarn of various escapades (perhaps somewhat illicit) worthy of Hunter S Thompson and Bukowski.
However, the point here is not to slurp the guy for a podcast that predated the Trump administration.
In light of what has been a tremendously challenging year for everyone, I feel another @MerchCzar holiday special edition of the Trap Draw could give the masses some comfort. I will leave the format to brighter minds (including @djpie), but as a basic premise, it would entail our hero – several egg nogs deep – chopping it up with some stories from the old country. Maybe just a mailbag of sorts. Could be a solo effort or with a few supporting characters to get things teed up.
Although the holidays may not be the same for everybody this year, maybe we can all enjoy some fireside Icarito…
